Today we had a low-key day where we weren't driving all around. We started with homemade Macadamia Nut panckaes with scrambled eggs and a fruit salad. The pancakes were AWESOME and made for a great lunch out hiking later.
Included in the Condo rental is access to the Owner's Beach at Mauna Lani. We decided to spend the morning snorkeling off of the beach. The plan was to go out and head left along the coast to the next cove/beach. But a darn turtle interrupted that plan...we were about 15 minutes in and saw a sea turtle. I love sea turtles so we turned around and just followed it (from a distance). They are amazing animals.
Views from the beach...we planned on staying on the beach to read/relax but I must have run into something in the water because I started to get hives...so back to the condo to shower up. After the shower, I was good as new.
We went to Kiholo Bay in the afternoon. There were a couple of geocaches down here and we wanted to check the area out. We heard there are a couple of HUGE beautiful houses along the beach also.
This house is owned by the guy who invented the pacemaker. We met people on the beach that met their personal chef. It's a beautiful house on a beautiful bay...but a shame that they need security cameras and guards because people do not know what Private Property means. I can only imagine what the views are like out of some of the windows!
Then next door is the Bali House...built by the guy who owns Paul Mitchell Hair Care line. It was built in Bali...taken apart...brought here...and put back together. It is beautiful.
These are some more moderate houses along the bay
Part of an old fishpond wall
Jason going to get a geocache...
Going to the geocache on the left...and of course, the actual trail on the right (that we found on the way back...it always works that way)
Kiholo Bay
An arch along the trail
They look like stones...but are actually Sea Turtles
The Sea Turtles swimming around...some right below me.
Keananlele Waterhole...we missed this on the way out but caught it on the way back.
There is a ladder to climb down...and the water is crystal clear.
When we got back to where we started, we walked the other way down the beach. There is a huge house down there by the trees.
The closest we got to the house.
This Round House is an old, unoccupied Loretta Lynn home. We wonder how long ago it was occupied...
Again, you need a sign to remind people to pack their trash?
How awesome would this campsite be? What a view from dinner!

Even though we both were able to find 10 things that don't belong on the beach...we were pretty amazed at how hard we had to search. The beach was really clean! Of course, the closer to the actual trash can, the more trash. Why is that? Why are people SO lazy??
